How to Stop Sabotaging your Own Happiness

Try saying these words and see how you feel: “It’s ok to be happy and have the things that I want.”⠀

So often (more often than most of us realize), we sabotage our own happiness. Unconsciously. Without knowing it. Without understanding what’s happening. ⠀

For lots of different reasons. ⠀

Fear. Guilt. Insecurities. Feelings of being unworthy, undeserving, incapable, inferior.⠀

Maybe we don’t believe we deserve happiness. Maybe we don’t feel safe, so we unwittingly continue to create situations in our life that perpetuate that feeling of unsafety—that make us feel unsafe, unsupported, and unprotected. Maybe happiness feels like too much to ask for from where we find ourselves currently standing. Or maybe, we even have the fear of opening up to true happiness, and the fulfillment of our heart’s desires, because we feel it will take away from another person’s happiness—we don’t want to make someone else feel bad or less-than, so we unconsciously hold ourselves back. We limit ourselves. We keep ourselves from the happiness we so desperately desire.⠀

But we all deserve happiness. Everyone deserves to feel happy.⠀

Everyone deserves to feel happy and that means YOU!⠀

So, try saying these words and see how you feel: “It’s ok to be happy and have the things that I want.”⠀

Say these words and repeat them. Let them sink in and become your truth.
