How I Mindfully Connect to Nature When I Walk

When I walk, I stretch my arms out to the sides to softly caress the passing leaves and flowers of the bushes and trees that line my path. I lightly push up to my tiptoes to reach the branches high up over my head, because I want them to know I see them too. I feel them too. I close my eyes and relish the feeling of feeling the wind on my face, and the sun warming the bare, uncovered parts of my skin. I breathe deeply as fresh air fills my lungs. I bask in the openness of the wide open space.⠀

Nature grounds me. It soothes me. It makes me feel alive, connected, and free. It’s the one place where I feel like I can fully breathe. Always.⠀

It’s alive too. It pulses an energy of its own. It beats to a rhythm I feel move through me. ⠀

Everything that flows and sways, sits and stands, lays and blows, breathes too. Feels too. ⠀

Nature is lively and alive. Flowing and pulsing, beating and blowing. Living and breathing in a way of its own. Moving to a rhythm it owns.⠀

I feel it. Can you?
